Don Mills Flyers Review
The Flyers started well in this game. Moreover, they even had some good chances to score through Hudson Cummins. Also, goaltender Moore was solid in the 1st period with 4 saves. However, their opponents gradually took control of the game and opened the score. But that did not stop the Flyers from playing as they had some good moments through Marco Saroglou.
In the 2nd period of the game, Don Mills looked more compact at the start. That resulted in Marco Saroglou scoring a goal from close range to put the team level with their opponents. However, they were not able to maintain that good momentum and their opponents had total control of the game after the goal. The Flyers conceded two more goals in the 2nd period of the game.
In the final period of the match, the Flyers dropped their pace as the fatigue kicked in. Therefore, their opponents capitalized on that as they scored 4 goals.
The flyers had a good start of the game but were not able to put much resistance to the dominant Marlboros.
Toronto Marlboros Review
The Marlboros are one of the most solid teams in the GTHL. The opened the scoring through their talisman forward Colby Barlow. Also, goaltender Costanzo played well at goal and made some notable saves. Giorgi also came close to score but was unlucky as he hit the post.
In the 2nd period of the game, the Marlboros dropped their pace at the start. That resulted in a conceded goal. However, that was an eye-opener for the Toronto side and they stepped up in the game. They had a commanding presence at the blue line with Francesco Dell’Elce defending well. Their control of the puck was impressive and the shots were raining at the goal of the Flyers.
Therefore, Barlow managed to score in the 5th minute to make it 2-1. Also, the flamboyant forward scored another tap-in goal in the 9th minute and made it 3-1 after a great assist from Grisolia.
In the 3rd period of the game, the M’Boros continued with their domination. Barlow continued with his riot and managed to score a fine coast to coast goal to make it 4-1 for the Marlboros. Two minutes later, Barlow was back in action again as he made an assist for Nichols which resulted in a 5th goal for the Toronto side.
By that time, Colby Barlow has completed his Gordie Howe Hat Trick. The Marlboros crowned their domination with 2 more goals through the talented Grisolia. All in all, the Marlboros were the better team and deserved to win this game.
Final Thought
On a final note, it is safe to say that the M’Boros were the better team and the win was more than deserved. They dominated the game and were clinical in front of goal. Surely, they are one of the main contenders for the top of the league this season.
