GTHL Game Review: Don Mills Flyers 2:1 Mississauga Senators – AAA Bantam 05’

The GTHL was back in action as the Don Mills Flyers clashed with the Mississauga Senators. The Flyers headed into this game after a 7-0 defeat in the game against the Titans. And on the other side, the Senators suffered a 6-2 defeat in the game against the Kings.

Don Mills Flyers Review
The Flyers headed into this game with high hopes of getting back to winning ways. Moreover, their start was strong and they dominated the early minutes of the game. Hudson Cummins was active and made some effective transitional movements. Also, Milne, Li, and Cummunis came close to score but the Flyers were unable to break the deadlock in the first period of the game.

In the 2nd period of the game, the Flyers looked eager to open the score. Therefore, their offensive side of the game improved and Luca Marrelli scored for a 1-0 lead. A great team celly followed and the Flyers were back on the track. Moreover, they managed to keep their momentum and came close to sore through Hudson Cummins. Also, goaltender Tang made a couple saves that kept the lead of the Flyers.

In the final period of the game, the Flyers once again were the better team. Moreover, they managed to score early through Brandon Gill for a 2-0 lead. Also, their defence had more work on their hands as the Senators significantly improved their game. That resulted in a conceded goal in the 14th minute of the final period. Therefore, the last minute of the 3rd period was really tense as the Flyers defended their lead. However, they managed to hold on and sealed the win.

Mississauga Senators Form
The Senators have suffered a convincing defeat in their last G game. They tried to play a more offensive game in the first period of the game. Robson and Cohen looked like they can cause problems for the opposing defender. However, they were not able to materialize anything from that good play.

In the 2nd period of the game, the Sens conceded an early goal. That changed their plans and they had to focus more on the offensive side of the game. However, that did not bring significant result as they went on the break with a result of 1-0.

In the final period of the game, the Sens conceded another goal. But that goal had a galvanizing effect on the team. The team took the initiative and managed to score in the 14th minute of the 3rd period.
Also, it is important to emphasize that Jordan Harrison made some impressive runs on the left-wing. He was the best player in the Senator’s camp during the final period of the game. The Mississauga side pushed hard to equalize but was not able to convert their chances. They lost the game 2-1, but they fought really hard.

Final Thought
This was a game between two teams that desperately needed a win. Both sides had good chances, but it was the Flyers that managed to capitalize on the opponents’ errors and won the game.
