Markham Majors Review
The Majors made a great start in this game as they scored an early goal in the first period. Also, their goaltender Quizi made some notable saves. However, they conceded 2 minutes later, but that goal had a galvanizing effect on the Majors. They started to dominate the barn and in the 9th minute, they scored the 2nd goal. Taeo Arthichuk took the possession of the puck and scored with a clinical finish in a one on one situation.
Therefore, the Majors ended the 1st period with a 2-1 lead.
In the 2nd period of the game, the Majors took the initiative Forward Logan Duomo made some good transitional runs and his tacklings were up to the needed level. Therefore, his good play resulted in the talented athlete scoring a great goal through a counter-attack in the 6th minute of the 2nd period. Goaltender Quizi was an integral part of the side as he kept the Titans offensive players at bay. The Majors ended the 2nd period of the game with a 3-1 lead and with complete control of the game.
In the 3rd period of the game, the Majors played solid once again. Palermo and Lee had a commanding presence at the blue line and the Markham side was in full control. Their opponents started to play with more freedom. And as they took more risks going forward, the Majors scored the 4th goal in the empty net of the Titans to seal a convincing 4-1 win.
Toronto Titans Review
The Titans headed into this game after a solid win in their last G game against the Flyers. They did not start this game as they wanted as they conceded early. Kowatch made some saves but conceded another goal in the 9th minute. On a positive side, they were able to score a goal in the first period. And James Petrovski was solid at the back, but his efforts were futile as the period ended 2-1 for the Titans.
In the 2nd period of the game, the Titans had to defend more as their opponents took control of the game. Terrance had some good runs and Robinson made some important transitional movements. Goaltender Kowatch made some remarkable saves but was unable to prevent the Majors from scoring the third goal. That goal sealed the end of the 2nd period.
In the final period of the game, the Titans went all in. Moreover, they started to attack more with Lazaris being determined to get the team back into this game. Also, Maguire grew up into the game and started to win more tackles. The Titans throw an extra body upfront at the cost of the goaltender. But that backfired as they conceded an empty-net goal which sealed their fate in this game.
Final Thought
The Majors looked more determined in this game and their defence was really solid. Also, their forward line was clinical upfront. They showed a formation and tactical discipline and deserved to win this game. And on the other side, the Titans did not play well in this game. They are a solid team, but their performance in this game was not at the needed level.
