GTHL Game Review: Reps Hockey Club 5 : 1 North York Rangers – AAA Bantam 05’

The GTHL was back on the schedule as the Mississauga Reps clashed with the North York Rangers at the Westwood 2. The Reps headed into this game after a 3-1 win in their last game against the Majors. As for the Rangers, they played a 1-1 draw with the Young Nationals.

Mississauga Reps Review
The Reps are one of the teams in the league that can beat any side. On their day, they are quality. And they showed that in the early minutes of the 1st period of the game. The Reps opened the score in the 8th minute as Lalkin took advantage of one swift counter-attack. They deserved to be in lead at the end of the first period.

In the 2nd period of the game, the Reps took complete control of the game. Campbell was a dominant figure and he controlled the puck well. Also, Campbell scored the 2nd goal with precise a long shot in the 6th minute. The Reps were flying at this point and a minute later Mike Levin made it 3-0.
The team combined well and Lalkin took advantage of that and scored in the 10th minute to make it 4-0. Two minutes late, the Reps scored another goal to make it 5-0. This time, it was Lewin that put the puck in the net after a good run by Campbell.

In the final period of the game, the Reps were focused on maintaining their lead. They were successful in that as they conceded only 1 goal in the 10th minute after a counter-attack. They were the better team and deserved to win this game.

North York Rangers Review
The Rangers had a slow start in this game. Moreover, they had to defend deep in order to stay in the game. However, they were not able to maintain a clean sheet and conceded a goal in the 8th minute of the game.
They were lucky not to concede more goals in the 1st period of the game.

In the 2nd period of the game, the Rangers were under pressure and their opponents dominated in the game. Therefore, they conceded 4 goals during the 2nd period of the game. The only positive in this game was their goaltender that made 7 saves in the 2nd fifteen minutes of the game.

In the final period of the game, the Rangers managed to score one goal for a final result of 5-1. They did not play well in this game and deserved to lose. However, they had some positive moments in the final period. And that is something that they will build on in the future.

Final Thought
All in all, the Reps were the better team and deserved to win the game. They showed their talent, quality, and great character. The Reps are a team that can beat any side in the GTHL. Therefore, it is safe to say that there is more to come from them.
