Toronto Titans Review
The Titans started this game in a positive way, determined to score in early on. But those attempts did not bring any results. On the contrary, they conceded a goal on the counter-attack. However, that goal did not change their gameplan. The Titans started to push more as Lazaris and Terrance combined well. And in one of their actions, Brooks took advantage and made it 1-1 from a close range. However, shortly after the team celly, the Titans conceded another goal. The Titans ended the first period of the game with 4 shots on goal. Kowatch made 5 saves as well.
In the 2nd period of the game, the Titans played better. Their transitional movements looked solid and Brooks was playing well. Defencemen Radeff made some strong tackles at the blue line. The much-improved side managed to equalize the score. Also, Robinson and Terrance had a good one on one chances. But they were unable to place the biscuit in the back of the net.
In the final period of the game, the Titans adopted a more cautious approach. Therefore, they were able to block almost every attempt of the Marlboros. Goaltender Kowatch was also solid and made 5 saves. Maguire had a good chance to score but he was kronwalled by the M’boros defence. The game ended 2-2 and the Titans should be proud of their performance in this game.
Toronto Marlboros Review
The Marlboros headed into this game as the only undefeated team in the GTHL AAA Bantam. Moreover, they are one of the most solid teams in the league. And they showed that as they scored in the first minutes of the game. Chase Coughlan showed his top-class finishing as his clinical shot resulted in a nice top cheddar goal. Yet, their defence lost concentration after a goal and conceded an equalizer. After the conceded goal, the Marlboros pushed forward. Their offensive side of the game was dominant and the resulted with another goal. The Marlboros ended the period with a 2-1 lead.
In the final period of the game, the Marlboros were focused on the offensive side of the game. Barlow was their main man upfront and the talented forward came close to score on a few occasions. Yet, he was unable to pass through the Titans defence and the opposing goaltender was in good form. Therefore, the game ended 2-2. The Marlboros continued with their undefeated run.
Final Thought
All in all, this was a GTHL classic between two top sides. Both Toronto teams played well and deserved something out of this game. Therefore, a draw was the right result.
