Markham Majors Review
The Majors have been inconsistent this season. But they headed into this game on the wings of a 4-3 victory in their last GTHL game against the Flyers. Yet, they did not have a good start and soon they found themselves defending. Defencemen Palermo had a notable presence in the first period but his good work rate was not enough to prevent their opponents from scoring two goals. The Majors had only 2 shots on goal in the first period of the game.
In the 2nd period, the Majors started to attack more and dominated at periods. However, they were not able to withstand the attacks of the Kings and soon conceded the 3rd goal of the game. Nevertheless, their play in the middle of the ice looked promising. And that resulted in Taeo Artichuk scoring a goal from a counter-attack. But the Majors did not pose a serious threat after the goal.
In the final period, the Majors tried to make a final push but the fatigue was evident and the team was not able to come back in the game. It is important to emphasize that they had some good periods and dominated the middle of the ice. But that was not enough for them to get something out of this game.
On the offensive side of the game, the Majors score an average of 3 goals per game.
And on the defensive side of the ice, the Markham side concedes an average of 2.07 goals per game.
Final Thought
The Kings were the better team in this game. And after all the disappointments in the last few games, they managed to show their quality and talent. Therefore, they deserved the win. As for the Major, it is important to note that they are a solid team and their play in the middle of the ice looks promising.
