Markham Majors Review
The Majors had the winning momentum in their camp. However, they did not start well as they conceded a goal in the 5th minute. However, after the conceded goal, they stepped up in the game and their offensive game improved. Also, goaltender Quizi made some notable saves that kept the team in the game. Furthermore, Scott had a great opportunity to score in the final minute of the 1st period, but the opposing goaltender saved the shot.
In the 2nd period of the game, the Majors faced a tough battle as their opponents played well too. Defenceman Palermo played really well and cut many of the attacking moves of the Reps. Logan Dumo also had a good chance to score but his shot ended on the chest of goaltender Monaco. However, the Majors dropped their pace and lost control of the puck. Therefore, the end result was another conceded goal. The Majors ended the 2nd period of the game 2-0 behind.
In the final period of the game, the offensive side of the game of the Majors improved. Moreover, they started to have more control of the puck. Also, they have won most of the power plays. However, it took right up to the 9th minute for them to score a goal. Artichuk stole the biscuit from the Reps defensive players and came in a one on one position with Monaco. The talented forward remained focused and scored to make it 2-1. The Majors got back into the game. Nevertheless, they were not able to score the 2nd goal and played the last minutes without a goaltender. That risk resulted with them conceding the third goal in the last minute of the game which sealed their defeat in this game.
Mississauga Reps Review
The Reps started this game strong and they dominated the first 5 minutes of the game. That domination resulted in Lalkin scoring a goal in the 5th minute after a solo effort. Also, forward Fabjan was a notable presence and the talented player-created numerous problems for the Majors. The Reps were under pressure in the final minutes of the first period, but goaltender Monaco made a few crucial saves.
In the 2nd period of the game, the Reps looked like a team that has a better coordination on the ice. Moreover, they needed to fight as they opponents raised their game as well. They were under pressure at certain points of the game but goaltender Monaco made some key saves. That had a galvanizing effect on the Reps as they scored another goal. Yet, again, it was their talisman forward Lalkin. His task seemed easy as he just had to put the puck in the halfway empty net. However, composure is a quality that every forward need and Lalkin seem to be one of those with abundance of talent.
In the final period of the game, the Reps were under pressure. But their defensive line stood firm until a defensive error caused them to concede a goal in the 9th minute of the game. On a positive note, Stephen Campbell made some good runs and put himself in some good positions to score. Yet, the team lacked a proper solution in the final third. The Reps had to fight to preserve their lead until the Majors decided to play without a goaltender in hope that they can score. Once again, it was tricky forward Lalkin that took advantage of that scored the third goal which sealed the win for the Reps.
